Another step in resolving goaltending problems in Philadelphia might be the signing of Sebastien Caron. The 30 year old goaltender, who has previously played for Pittsburgh, Chicago and Anaheim, is returning to the NHL after three seasons in Swiss Fribourg-Gotteron. He's going to back up Brian Boucher tonight against Montreal and maybe in further games, as injured ohan Backlund (hamstring) won't be available until Sunday at the earliest.

Montreal Canadiens will miss forward Sergei Kostitsyn for some time. The 23 year-old Belorussian left Wednesday's game with Carolina with undisclosed lower body injury and will not be available for, at least, Montreal's Friday game in Philadelphia. Kostitsyn has played in 44 games so far this season, scoring six goals and adding ten assists.
