Dallas Stars have called up for the last games or the regural season Danish defenceman Philip Larsen, whose season just ended in the Swedish Eliteserien where he played for Frolunda. Also joining the team is another defenceman Maxime Fortunus from their Texas farm team.

Forward Ryan Flynn signed a two-year two-way contract with Nashwille, who picked him in the sixth round of the 2006 draft. The former Minnesota Golden Gopher in WCHA will finish the season in Milwaukee in AHL.

Phoenix Coyotes have made an entry-level contract offer to defenceman Mathieu Brodeur, whom they drafted in the third round of the 2008 draft. The 19 year-old defender will be reporting to the Poenix AHL farm team in San Antonio after the conclusion of the season in Cape Breton of QMJHL (first round play off loss to Moncton).

Finnish SM-Liiga play off quarterfinal results: - 4th games: TPS Turku - Lukko Rauma 4:2, Turku wins the series 4:0, Kärpät Oulu - Jyväskylä 1:2 OT, series 1:3, Tappara Tampere - KaIPa Kuopio 3:2, series 2:2, Hämeenlinna - IFK Helsinki 4:3 OT, series 2:2.

The winner of the KHL regular season Ufa lost their second semifinal game at home against Kazan. The defending Gagarin Cup champions (Kazan) won the second game 2:1 in overtime and could end the series in the next two games at home.

After more than two months Chris Osgood is returning to start for Detroit. With the exception of substitution on March 3 against Vancouver (3:6 loss) the last time the 37 year-old veteran started last on January 27 against Minnesota (2:5 loss). Rookie Jimmy Howard started the next 24 games in a row. Coach Mike Babcock wants to spread the load in the end of the regular season and Osgood should start at least two games between now and the start of the play offs.

Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar are returning to the ice. Malkin missed five games with foot problems. Gonchar missed four games due to illness. Both played on Saturday against Atlanta and figured on the score sheet by scoring a goal and adding an assist each.

Dallas Stars have signed forward Tom Wandell to a two-year contract extention. The 23 year-old player played 50 games for Dallas this season before injuring his knee will earn $1.55 million under his new contract.

Atlanta Thrashers forward Colby Armstrong was punished by a two-game suspension for his elbow-to-the-head hit on Mathieu Perreault, which occurred in the Thursday's game against Washington. He will be eligible to return on Friday when the Thrashers play the Capitals again. Armstrong will in the meantime donate $25,000 into the player fund.
