Vancouver's Henrik Sedin won the Art Ross Trophy while Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby and the Lightnings' Steven Stamkos shared the Maurice Richard Trophy. Sedin took home the points trophy thanks to his 112-point mark, three better than Crosby and Washington's Alex Ovechkin. Sedin is the first Canuck to ever win the Art Ross and became the ninth player in the past nine seasons to win the hardware.

Swiss national team coach Sean Simpson will not be able to count on three players for his World Championship team, who turned his invitation down. Defencemen Severin Blindenbacher and Patrik von Gunten, and forward Julien Sprunger, who couldn't be convinced to play for the national team after a tough season during which he suffered a neck injury.
Canadian defenceman Patrick Traverse is changing teams after one season within the German DEL. The 36-year old Montreal-born player left Düsseldorf and signed a one year contract with Hamburg. The former Ottawa, Boston and Montreal defenceman was the most productive Metro Stars player in the play offs with four assists in three games, he played in 53 games of the regular season (3 goals & 29 assists).
