NHL announced the nominations for the Mark Messier Award, which is awarded to NHL team leaders. The selections, out of which the three finalists will be selected later, are Jamie Langenbrunner (New Jersey), Nicklas Lidström (Detroit), Ryan Miller (Buffalo), Alexander Ovechkin (Washington) and Mike Richards (Philadelphia).
